JUNIOR DIGITAL LICENCE

Buddying up to teach students about online safety.

Project Synthesis helped to design this narrative and play-based digital experience that supports early primary school aged children in developing an understanding of online safety. Co-designed with students from Foundation to Year 3, this interactive module-based game sees students supported in their learning by the Alannah & Madeline Foundation’s cartoon mascot, Buddy Bear. During the co-design process, which was facilitated by Project Synthesis Producer, Daniel Donahoo, students were encouraged to share their insights and perspectives around online safety through drawing, games and stories to help identify key areas of concern when it came to online experiences. These were then used in the development and design process of building the project output, the Junior Digital Licence product.

Collaborators on this project include the Alannah & Madeline Foundation, Professor Susan Edwards, and Early Learning Futures, and was supported by Google Australia.
